Blog-mas? Feeling grateful!

Christmas is almost just around the corner and yet you could not see any trace of Christmas decor in my place (lol). I am not being a scrooge but we are just currently in the process of moving plus busy with other stuff as well. We may get a small christmas tree with leaves that are fiber optic which are cool.

Whenever I watch youtube, I could feel that christmas is really here and coming. The youtubers are blogging about getting christmas trees, decors and gifts plus more which are inspiring really but for some reason is not giving me enough urge to get all christmassy and they are video blogging it and called their vlogs "Vlogmas". They are chronicling snippets of their lives from december 1st till christmas which is I must say awesome on how they do it daily or weekly , all the vlogging and the editing plus their daily tasks and appointments too.

This is the season to be giving and be kind to one another but of course we have to be like that all year long really and not just during christmas time. Just mysterious on whatever is in the air during Christmas season that turns people to be more kind to one another.

I am grateful for the blessings and miracles happening everyday. And yes even for the dramas too (true!). I really wanted to pay it forward and be a blessing to others too. So when opportunity knocked, I gave it a thought and helped. A few years back, someone helped me financially and been a blessing to me and that was the time we were really cash strapped. When we talked then, my friend told me someone helped him too and promised to himself to pay it forward when opportunity knocks. (Thank you and I will forever grateful to that person, thank you so much!).

Christmas is not just giving gifts or money, why not give things that you can give like time, love, help, support or whatever. You can even DIY your gifts too, right (gifts that are made with love)?

Big hugs to you all and advanced merry christmas and be a blessing!

Youtube FanFest Manila .. 1st time ever!

I have been an avid Youtube viewer since last year (as in nakatutok talaga everyday!) . Youtube has been my companion since I started working from home and my husband was working then for a local fastfood  which leaves me at home all alone. I remember the first video I watched then was the "What's in my Bag" tag videos because I am constantly curious on what was on a person's tag. And then this leads me to start subscribing to different channels which leads me to subscribing to another and so on and so forth. I cannot remember what lead me to watching Youtube videos but so far that tag leads me to being somewhat adept on what channels to watch and what to subscribe,

I also do follow Filipino youtubers and one of them is Real Asian Beauty (do check out her channel on youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/RealAsianBeauty ). Real Asian Beauty is Kristine's channel on which she talks about OOTDs (outfit of the day), themed lookbooks, product reviews (skincare and makeup among others), nail art ( I can say she is the Queen!), hauls, vlogs and much more. She is so down to earth and a lovely girl  and she does care for her subscribers too:) I am among the lucky ones who won her giveaway for the first ever Youtube FanFest Manila 2015 which was held at Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City, Pasay City last June 26 (thank you so much Kristine :) ).
Here is me with my husband who came with me on the event woohoo!

We left home around 2 pm and we reached the venue about 5pm (thank you so much NAIA phase 2 skyway construction which contributed almost an hour to our travel! *sarcastic tone used here*). LOL imagine I literally felt my make up melted and felt so sweaty and tired during the travel hence when we got to the venue, we changed clothes and used a facial wipe to erased my make up (it was so hot during that day I tell you!) and baby wipes for my arms and legs. Oh and yes, we did  bring extra clothes because we know we will need it given how humid our temperature here in Metro Manila is.

We had to go to an assigned room on the ground floor of the ballroom to claim our wrist bands for the event itself and for the meet up. There are also different mini stands for the sponsors of the event like Unilever, Smart, Globe , Philippine Airlines and Selecta Cornetto (Selecta was amazing because they have people going inside the event area to handed out ice creams which are really helpful really because trust me the excitement and energy level inside the event area was amazeballs!).
Here are what we got plus the wristbands for the event which serves as our entrance ticket:)

So here was what it looked inside the ballroom:

Most of the people went around the stage area (of course perfect vantage point!) to see the Youtubers up close  but sadly some became rowdy to the point when the guests were let in the venue, some were running and some got pushed  even tried to be knocked over for getting a better spot. Hence I and hubby were on the side still near the VIP area but we still got a good vantage point from there and you can easily spot their parents on that area too :)

The excitement (or over excitement perhaps?) is expected since it is the first time for such event to be held here in Manila, Philippines. Imagine watching them on the screen for years then finally you will get the chance to see them up close and personal, ahhh yes, fangirling mode on for sure!  The event started around past 8pm already and imagine all the screaming and the shouting waiting for their fave youtubers to go out the stage.

The youtubers who were there were : JASPOLI (yes that is their fans' ship name for these lads whom consists of Joe Sugg (Zoella's brother, Zoella is also a famous beauty youtuber too who wrote the book " Girl Online") , Caspar Lee and Oli White ), Bethany Mota ( a beauty and fashion youtuber who also graced covers of different magazines and had been one of Dancing with the Stars contestants), AJ Rafael ( he is part Filipino youtuber who became famous for his singing on his channel which captured the hearts of his subscribers), Kristine of Real Asian Beauty ( a local youtuber who got famous for her nail art tutorials, beauty and fashion videos), Ana Victorino ( a local makeup artist/youtuber who is famous for her makeup tutorials and became ambassadress for Dollface cosmetics), Bogart the Explorer (a local youtuber who got famous for doing Australian accent while donning the explorer costume aka Marco Ho, who is the drummer of the band Giniling Festival . He also does Boris too , the Russian guy character), Allstar Productions (local youtubers on which on their channel you can expect they are doing short films and music videos), Abra ( local youtubers who are known for their music ), LDN or Lyrically Deranged Poets (local youtubers who are known for their music ), Loonie (local youtuber who is known for his fliptop/ rap music), Jireh Lim ( a local youtuber who is known for his music , know the song "Magkabilang Mundo"? mmhmm he sang that), Mich Liggayu (from JaMich fame , a local youtuber), Lloyd Cafe Cadena (local youtuber who is known for his life lessons and comedic antics on his channel that will surely leave you smiling or laughing for sure, he now has 2 books under his name),  Donnalyn Bartolome (local youtuber who got famous for her singing on her channel), Kurt Hugo Scheneider ( he is a songwriter, producer and producer of recordings, music videos and films.  His channel reached 1.2 billion plus views and has over 5.5 million subscribers. Oh and his latest vid is a collaboration with Bethany Mota ;) ), Macy Kate (she started with youtube with the help of his friend Kurt Hugo Schneider and she focuses mainly on tween girls who want to share music and to connect) and also with special guests : Apl de Ap (from Black Eyed Peas), and Jessica Reynoso (Apl's newest talent and who got discovered from The Voice Philippines ).

Here are some of the pictures I took during the event:

It was such an amazing event on which I felt it was fulfilling to be there. The tickets were sold out within 5 minutes it was released on the website last June 12 10am. I was lucky to won 2 tickets for the event and I never ever expect to win it to be honest! OH HECK YES!! I am looking forward for next year's Youtube Fanfest event and hoping to score tickets by then. They are all inspiring on which inspires me to create my own channel (part of my bucketlist hopefully to do it soon:) )

Until then, like what Louis Cole of Fun For Louis youtube channel always says at the end of his every video " Peace out.. Enjoy Life.. Live the adventure.. Boom *fist bumps to the camera*

New name (sort of) for the blog name

Since I started blogging, the name "inside the mind of a mag-a-holic" got stuck in me since I love to read and browse through local and international magazines may it be fashion, lifestyle, inspirational or whatever struck my fancy. Every month, you can expect from me that I have a copy of magazine that I follow ever since  like Cosmopolitan Philippines (since they started some years ago). I know then that I wanted to be a Cosmo girl .. be fun, fearless and fierce  on which I was not.  That magazine stands out from most that I saw or read back then and it kind of grew with me.

Since my grade school years (about 5th or 6th grade I think) I started my love affair with magazines. One magazine that I made sure that I will buy with what I saved then with my allowance was Glitter magazine (anyone remember that magazine?). To think its pages are newsprint and I think it was worth 20 plus  pesos (am not so sure, pardon my memory) but I got updated with the stars, lifestyle and stuff with that magazine. It is sad that the magazine did not exist anymore but we sure had something then (LOL)!

Hence, I decided to start a blog with the name "inside the mind of a mag-a-holic" because of that PLUS I thought it has a ring on it, a recall.  But since nothing is constant but change, I decided to tweak this blog of mine and renamed it. Hey change is good right?! So here it is.. presenting to you all.. "Inside the mind of bellasearcher" . Feel free to share the love about this blog and hopefully to keep you all updated! Love you all! *kisses*

Book Appetit

Since it's mini-challenge time once again (and before i go to a shallow slumber it's past 2 am here in the Philippines that's why my body can't take it anymore lol), I would like to compose a blog about Book Appetit. Currently am reading Love Walked In by Marisa delos Santos. For sure, variety of coffee and tea would be served since am inspired to do a la coffee shop theme where Cornelia is working at the story. Tea sandwiches, pastries like cheese cake slice, blueberry cheese cake, choco cake slice, ham and cheese croissants are also a must and bagel too. Hmm since the author is a Filipino so we'll put a Filipino touch to it by having our very own kapeng barako and tsokolate eh and tsokolate ah and stuffed pandesal too.Hot coffee will also be served, several tea and coffee concoctions both hot and iced will be serve to. For the music, am thinking of slow and chillaxing music, at times may be jazz and at times mellow music too. Decor is somewhat homey and you can smell the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, essence of chocolate and the freshness of pastries and breads being sold at the cafe. Will also have barista too but encouraging my guests to be their own barista, concocting their own drinks and/or making their fave drinks too. With tea candles on each table and fresh flowers adorning the place.

Hour 4 and my 1st post

LOL! /me facepalms .. coz thanks to twitter I remembered the dewey's 24 hour read a thon for this april (coincidentally which am looking forward for months but ironically I lost track of time.. lol talked about age hehe). So am beginning to read now on Hour 4 with Love Walked In by Marisa delos Santos. I read several reviews about this on which the book received positive reviews about it and am planning to read once am done with this book I will read the sequel You Belong to Me. As a response to the introductory questionnaire, please read below: 1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? Well am on one of the fine tropical countries in the world which is the Philippines wherein #summerisdefinitelymorefuninthephilippines coz of the temperature we are getting which goes up to 38 degrees celsius lol. 2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I am continuing to read Love Walked In by Marisa delos Santos and its sequel You Belong to Me and it depends what will be next. 3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Hmm actually I don't have any.. just water to hydrate myself from summer heat and good chillaxing music and then the regular meals we'll be having in the next several hours. 4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I love reading books though I sometimes come to a point I become lazy reading them then picking up from where I left off. I also surf the net and chat. I also dream of traveling the world, right now I am hoping and wishing and dreaming of coming to UK one day. 5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? Well for starters, to prepare myself for the 24 hour read-a-thon itself like good music, food, book/s to read, internet connection and checking myself if am still awake (lol). I wish I can do some cheering to other read-a-thoners out there and reading their blog posts and tweets also :) Cheers to all my fellow read-a-thoners and let's read along, shall we?

Blog-mas? Feeling grateful!

Christmas is almost just around the corner and yet you could not see any trace of Christmas decor in my place (lol). I am not being a scroog...
